Well deserving and to no surprise, Tom Thibodeau has won the NBA Coach of the Year after leading the Chicago Bulls to a 62 win season and advancing past the Pacers in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

If ever there was a team that reflected its coach, the Bulls are just that.

“He’s a great coach, a phenomenal coach,” forward Taj Gibson said. “He watches every detail. He watches you throughout the year. He’s been phenomenal with me in my growth as a player, being my second year in the league. He deserves it. He turned us around, to a whole new mold of team. Our passion, our aggression toward every basketball game is phenomenal.”

If anyone deserves this award it is Coach Tom Thibodeau. I had the opportunity to meet Bulls coach after their win in against the Magic in the regular season just before the playoffs. The man’s knowledge of the game and his leadership and values is brought to the court. As I don’t see the Hawks giving the Bulls much of a problem in the 2nd round, I find it interesting to see where this coach takes this team as the post season plays on.
