Wake Forest Student Accuses Two Basketball Players of Sexual Assault

Appears to be another another sex scandal in the world of college hoops. A young lady is stepping forward and going on The Today Show to announce the incident where she talks about how she was sexually assaulted by members of the Wake Forest Men’s Basketball Team in 2009.

A former Wake Forest student will appear on NBC’s Today Show Thursday to talk about a sexual assault incident she alleges took place on March 19th, 2009, Wake Forest fan site Blogger So Dear reports. The former student reportedly says she was raped by two members of the Demon Deacons basketball team the day before their first-round NCAA tournament game against Cleveland State.

If you remember, the WF team in 2009 shed the talents of now NBA players Jeff Teague, Ish Smith, Al Farouq Aminu, and James Johnson. Reports are saying that none of these players have been accused of any such acts just yet.

I find it odd for the woman to step out and broadcast in nationally over 2 years later. Could this be just a way to get attention? Does she have another motive behind this?

The Today Show has confirmed the report and even went as far to share a Facebook post in the National Coalition Against Violent Athletes group that says:

“The NCAVA has been aching to announce this: Tune in to the Today Show this Thursday at 7:45am ET to watch a very determined, strong and special young woman talk about her rape by basketball players at Wake Forest University. We are privileged and proud to work with such an extraordinary woman and her incredible family.”

Of course, rape and sexual assault is a matter that should not be taken lightly, but as of right now, this young lady gets the straight face from me. -____-
