Memorial Day Weekend Las Vegas: Rules on Partying with the Ballers
Memorial Day weekend is but right around the corner (Literally) and everybody...
Brandon Jennings is the face of a young Milwaukee Bucks team. For their fans, its been a pretty exciting early season for them as they have triumphed over some of the best teams in the leagues so far, and have been quite the team to watch. Milwaukee seems to be the team that the Knicks may have to battle it out with in order to clench the 8th seed in the East come time for playoffs. Bucks fans may want to enjoy it while it lasts as star point guard Brandon Jennings is looking to test out the waters on a bigger market team and chuck the deuces to Milwaukee.
A tweet from Chris Broussard isn’t the best news if you’re a fan of Jennings in a Bucks uniform. He tweeted:
Jennings has always been an injury prone player who I feel hasn’t quite lived up to any expectations until this season. He balled his behind off during the lockout in many exhibition and charity games and I’m glad to see that some of that effort has transferred on to the hardwood court that matters.
MySportsRumors seems to think the players have to do what they have to do for their financial future. They’ll be set on base salary thanks to the max contract he can get from the Bucks but being in Milwaukee will he ever see big endorsement deals? Hell no. So you can’t blame him for wanting to go after those dollars.
I don’t agree. Jennings already has an endorsement with Under Armour that seems to be doing fairly well, and players in smaller markets are VERY capable of getting big endorsement deals, check out Kevin Durant.
Here’s some quotes from the ESPN article.
“It has nothing to do with the city of Milwaukee or anything like that because that’s where I started my career,” Jennings said. “They’ve been nothing but good to me. (Coach) Scott Skiles and (general manager) John Hammond have been good to me. It’s just that I’m understanding the business of basketball now.” (ESPN.com)
“I am going to keep my options open, knowing that the time is coming up,” Jennings said in an email interview. “I’m doing my homework on big market teams.”(ESPN.com)
“I’m not saying I won’t (sign an extension with the Bucks) and I’m not saying I will,” he said. “I’m just keeping my options open.”(ESPN.com)
There’s still a whole second half to the season before we will really know the route that Jennings is planning on taking. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he ends up leaving Milwaukee however.
