Celtics No Longer Trading Rondo
Why it was even in discussion to trade Rajon Rondo, a point guard that you can easily build around, will be an unsolved mystery. The Celtics have been the team in most of the rumor mills when it comes to trades. Clearly, they have noticed their aged squad and plan on rebuilding. Luckily for Celtics fans, the rumor of letting go of Rondo can be thrown out of the window. It appears that Danny Ainge is no longer listening to offers for his All-Star point guard. (CBSSports.com)
The Celtics, who according to one rival team had, in fact, been soliciting offers for Rajon Rondo in recent weeks, have disengaged on that front, sources said. One executive compared the Celtics’ posture with Rondo to the Pistons’ with Rodney Stuckey, whom Detroit no longer is actively shopping.
This is good news for the Celtics. Rondo has been playing some of his best basketball this season and it would be a shame for the Celtics to lose such a piece. Now as for the state of Pierce, Garnett, and Allen….that is still up in the air.
