Ray Allen Receiving Interest from Clippers, Paul Pierce Being Pursued by Rockets,Lakers,& Clippers

The Boston Celtics are in the trade rumor mill heavy. With trade rumors circling their point guard Rajon Rondo, fans in Boston could become a bit nervous with the most recent speculations that Ray Allen and Paul Pierce are also being shopped around the league.

The age of the Celtics has been in questioned in reference to them winning another ring and competeing with young,talented teams out as the Heat, Bulls, and Thunder. Are the Celtics headed toward a rebuilding era?

According to Comcast Sportsnet, several teams are showing interest in Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. It’s a little unclear by the wording if the report by A. Sherrod Blakely is sourced by the wording, but Celtics players in trade rumors is nothing new.

According to csnne.com:

With the trading deadline two weeks away, multiple league sources indicate that Paul Pierce and Ray Allen — not Rajon Rondo — are drawing the most interest from potential trade partners. …. Among those believed to have some interest in Allen, are the Los Angeles Clippers. With the season-ending injury to Chauncey Billups, the Clippers have a huge void to fill at the shooting guard position. …. Some of the teams believed to have interest in Pierce include both of his hometown teams — the Los Angeles Lakers and the Clippers — as well as the Houston Rockets.

I wouldn’t be too concerned about Pierce leaving. He has stated he would like to retire a Celtic. Trade deadline is March 15th so it will be interesting to see what happens around the league and particularly in Boston.
