It really shouldn’t be hard to find him. Where’s the Wanted...
Dwight Howard Wanted Magic to Hire Brian Shaw or Michael Malone as Coach Prior to This Season
According to IamaGM, a local Orlando television station has the specifics regarding the Dwightmare situation. According to the report, Howard told Magic CEO Bob Vander Weide, who has since retired, to replace Stan Van Gundy in a conversation prior to the start of the season. The list of replacements Howard provided included Brian Shaw and Michael Malone.
Stan Van Gundy got wind of this news and decided to make the revelation to media on Thursday.
Multiple sources close to Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard told Bright House Sports Network’s David Baumann that prior to the season, Howard indicated that he preferred the Magic would have hired Indiana Pacers associate head coach Brian Shaw or Golden State Warriors assistant coach Michael Malone to replace current Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy. …. BHSN has learned that a discussion of a hypothetical head coaching change took place between Howard and recently resigned Magic CEO Bob Vander Weide.
This has gotten out of hand and is becoming a disgrace to the both the management and organization of the Orlando Magic. Someone needs to start firing some people…starting with Dwight firing his PR. Howard is steering his way to becoming public enemy #1, yes even ahead of Lebron James and his “Decision.” This will make it difficult to add on next season as the free agents such as Deron Williams, Steve Nash, Ray Allen, and so on may not want to join and organization of dysfunction.
This has all become a trainwreck and even as a Magic fan, I can’t bare to watch this team both on and off the court. Last night they were able to end a 5 game losing streak by defeating the Sixers, but their road is far from over as they still work to maintain a spot in the playoffs. Just in the past week the Magic have dropped from the #3 seed down to #6. Many critics don’t have this broken team making it out of the first round. *covers eyes.
