Kobe Bryant Says He Will Absolutely Win His 6th Ring This Year
Can there only be one? As Kobe gets ready for the road to win his 6th championship with the LA Lakers, he has nothing stopping him. I take it that he has disregarded just how well the competition is this year. While the Heat are the favorites to win, you can certainly count Oklahoma Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, and the Chicago Bulls as front runners to win the NBA title this season as well. But Kobe insists.
“I expect to win it, absolutely,” Bryant said. “I think the thing that’s our biggest strength is our versatility and our size. (Ramon) Sessions has added another dimension to our team in terms of speed and point guard that can score the ball. Our bench has been playing extremely well. We’ve been shooting the ball extremely well, and our biggest key is our perimeter shooting, limiting our turnovers, and keeping the game at our pace. If we can do those things in the postseason, I like our chances.”
He likes their chances. *shrugs. The Lakers will take on the newly built Denver Nuggets in the first round. Dever is going into the playoffs on a 4 game winning streak and not looking to get out so early as they have in previous years. With the addition of Mcgee and Chandler back in the lineup it won’t be an easy task for the Lakers however I see them getting past them in 5 games. Lucky for the Kobe and the Lakers they don’t have to face the reigning Champions, the Dallas Mavericks, who swept them last year to go to the Western Conference Finals.
“Everybody’s a problem,” Bryant said when asked about potential matchups. “The Western Conference has been tough from top to bottom now for years. There are no easy matchups. You can’t look at one particular matchup and say, ‘OK, that’s going to be an easy series. That’s going to be a gimme series.’ That just doesn’t happen in the Western Conference.
Atleast he knows it won’t be easy.
“The Clippers have a good seed at the four slot, and they’ve got to face Memphis. You’re looking at us in the third slot, and we’ve got to deal with a Denver team that’s incredibly active and a great scoring team or we’ve got to play the defending champs. There’s no easy matchup.”
I won’t even ask Laker fans what they think of Kobe’s statement beause they’re more obnoxious and delusional about winning a ring than Kobe is right now.
