Packers’ DJ Williams Wrestled Cows to Prepare for Season

Greenbay’s DJ Williams is a country boy at heart. While many football players fought DUI cases, parties it up in Vegas and Miami, and relaxed during their offseason, Williams decided to become stronger, the only way a country boy knows how.

Williams says during the offseason he wrestled cows.

“I wrestle cows everyday,” Williams said. “Back home in Arkansas, we don’t have anything else to do.”

Really? Wresting a cow?  How exactly do you do that?

“It’s very difficult to put him on the ground,” Williams said. “If you can wrap the hind leg with the front leg, you have a good chance if you get enough push.”

Wrestling a cow? Not too sure about that. I’d much prefer the task of going to the gym, or just practicing my table skills. During my “offseason” I’d rather spend my days tightening my poker skills at Pokerblog.com and prepare myself for my next trip to Vegas.  You don’t think I get good at Poker without practicing first do ya?

Clearly, DJ Williams will have NO problem tackling a guy his size if he’s out here dropping cows.

Williams apparently learned to wrestle cows while he played at the University of Arkansas.  That’s where he won the 2010 John Mackey Award as the nation’s best tight end.

“I just roomed with a whole bunch of country people in college,” he said. “Nothing else to do.”

Williams continues on to explain the perks and reasons of wrestling cattle- and yes, it goes beyond football.

“I guess it’s three things: for a good time, for football, obviously, and it’s a good way to impress a girl,” he said.

This is most certainly a sport I won’t be taking on. *Logs onto PokerBlog.com . I’ll stick to online gaming over finding a cow to wrestle.
