Last night was pretty amazing! I was honored to be in attendence at the ESPN Pre ESPY Party held at Spot 5750 last night hosted by Lala Vasquez and Serena Williams.
The party was absolutely incredible from the live performance by Estelle who rocked the stage, to all the top A Listers being in attendence, along with of course an open bar! I must say the Hennessy made the temperature rise to about 1000 degrees.
Met up with Kevin Love at the end of the night who was a complete doll! Quite hilarious and very charming. He also didn’t seem to bothered about the trade rumors of him heading to LA. But then again, weighing in on Minnesota and the Lakers, the decision isn’t hard.
Guess it’s okay to mock players on the other team AFTER you have won the finals. Not much has been said about Tyson Chandler’s mockery of Lebron James, however, the same can’t be said about Lebron and Wade who mocked Dirk before game 5.
There were tweets going around that mentioned Heat players being at Liv on Sunday after the Game 6 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. We know Mark Cuban and the rest of the Dallas Mavericks paraded their championship trophy that night and balled out with 5 foot bottles of Grey Goose, but that’s what Champions are allowed to do.
These guys on this Heat team, are like no other. Having played basketball for many years myself, you take some time to reflect after a big loss. That LAST thing you do is party, especially witht he team that just sent you fishing.
Now it didn’t happen if there aren’t any pictures, but word of mouth is saying that there were indeed Heat players in the building. What does this say about the Miami Heat? Is it even worth mentioning? Did they really take this serious?
It is time for everyone to sit back and evaluate what a sham of a union Miami Heat was over this past summer and how they came up short when it mattered most. It is time for fans to become fans once again as they are united by the fact that LeBron has yet to win a ring and Dirk Nowitzki finally has his first. I woke up this morning and turned on ESPN as I do every other day.
Today, however, seems like the day where congratulations are not so much in order for Dirk as the humiliation is for LeBron and the Miami Heat.
I do not separate his name from the bunch because I believe he is more important than any other player, even though I do. I did it because even though Miami as a whole lost the series and Dwyane Wade had two uncharacteristic turnovers down the stretch, James is receiving the lions’ share of the blame for how this series turned out.
Can you blame anyone for handing him all the credit for the loss? Not averaging at least 20+ in the Finals is not an intangible that you label superstar athletes with. In fact, you could say that some of the greatest we have ever seen thrive in the moments where the pressure cooker is the highest and the most is expected of them.
Great players deliver above and beyond expectations, while LeBron seemed to skip away from the responsibility that he has to this Miami organization. Although all of these things may be true, let us not forget the other two players on the team that were expected to deliver multiple rings to the franchise. LeBron was not the only man on that stage during the preseason Championship celebration. Continue reading LeBron Receiving All The Heat In Miami, But There Were Two Other Guys On Stage→
Not sure if this can take place in just any ol’ city, but last night Miami partied it up at popular Club Liv last night with the Dallas Mavericks who won the NBA Finals just hours prior. Lil Wayne and the rest of YMCMB were among the few who rooted for Miami and Lebron the entire series partied it up like they were celebrating with the Heat.
The entire twitter world tweeted of this as the Dallas Mavericks and Mark Cuban showed up to the club with the trophy. Shenanigans.
