So although a day late, Gilbert Arenas and Dwight Howard, who is too big to just be laying down everywhere, have been showing their followers on twitter all day long their Plank stands. Someone give these men a basketball or something to do. All I know is if
one of them, Dwight Howard hurts himself doing this foolishness, I just can’t.
Here’s Dwight Howard in front of the Amway Arena doing his #plank
Dwight Howard recently had a charity bowling event for his DH Foundation where during the presser he was asked about the lockout and what he planned to do in the spare time. With his odd responses, this is what Dwight Howard said he would do. Continue reading Dwight Howard Will Turn To Cock Fighting If There's An NBA Lockout
We’re going to go ahead and place this in the “No way will this ever eff’n happen” trade rumor category in the words of DimeMag.
According to Draft Express, the Golden State Warriors have reportedly offered a package of Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Andris Biedrins to the Orlando Magic for Dwight Howard. It is a general rule that unless it’s a total steal, you almost never deal big for small in the NBA. It hardly, if ever, works. We would say that when you’re talking about the best big in the NBA, that rule is extra airtight.
Although the Magic are known for having all around shooters, this “package deal” is one the is laughable. What the Magic need is a back up center for Dwight Howard, a good point guard that can get him the ball, and a clutch shooter who is consistent off the pass.
Althought Monta Ellis is a great player, this trade will “NEVER eff’n happen”.
It’s not surprise that after an underwhelming season and an embarassment in the post season, the Los Angeles Lakers are not the Championship team they once were with the growing talents of the East and All-stars joining forces. The Lakers have already switched up by replacing Coach Phil Jackson with Mike Brown.
Throughout the end of the regular season and into the playoffs, as the Magic was eliminated by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round, with Dwight Howard’s contract coming to an end, the sports world soared with rumors of him possibly leaving Disney World to head to Disney Land.
Well, looks like the Lakers are bypassing the defensive player of the year for a guard, and they’re seeking those talents in likes of either Chris Paul from the Hornets or the newly acquired New Jersey Net, Deron Williams. The ‘adidas miCoach’ brand is attempting to venture off iton the likes of a new video game that allows those playing a chance to train with the players like Dwight Howard, Josh Smith and Eric Berry, as reported by ESPN.
“The ‘miCoach’ brand from an adidas standpoint is a service, it’s about personal coaching,” said David Sapienza, the game’s producer. “Their goal is to help athletes perform better, whether that’s being faster or stronger.”
The training game started on the internet but now Adidas is working with video game publisher THQ to put the game in living rooms all over. You have to admit that the motivation to work out rests mainly with what kind of workouts you are doing and who else is doing those workout routines. If you have a basketball or football player in your face shouting that this is what they do and how to do it, there will be plenty of people flocking to stores just to duplicate their favorite star’s physique. Sounds pretty solid to me.
The quotatious and great Shaquille O’Neal held his retirement press conference at his home in Orlando,Fl. The big fella talks about his career, where the NBA stands without him, and what he’s doing as a retired NBA player.
If you were one of the few that missed it, check out the video and a few side notes when you read on. Continue reading Video: Shaquille O'Neal Retirement Press Conference
Karl Malone, one of the greatest basketball players of all time, retired in 2004 without a championship ring. Dwight Howard, destined to be another great, has the option of returning back to Orlando, where they have seemingly reached their peak as an organization. Or he could walk away and join another star or two in either Chicago, LA or New York, just to name a few.
As much as he says that he wants to create his own path, the league is becoming more and more stacked. With his most recent statements, he is giving more reasons why he should leave than arguing his primary reasons for staying.
“I’m not trying to run behind nobody like Shaq or be behind somebody else,” Howard told the Orlando Sentinel Monday. “I want to start my own path and I want people to follow my path and not just follow somebody else’s path. I want to have my own path, and I want to start that here in Orlando. But I can’t do it alone. Not only do I need the right teammates, but I need the city behind me. That’s the only way it’s going to get done. We can change this small city that we have — this small market that we have — and we can make it a big market.” Continue reading Dwight Howard Wants To Be In Orlando, Just Like LeBron Wanted To Stay In Cleveland
Jeff Van Gundy has declined an offer from the Golden State Warriors to coach the team in the near future. The Warriors may want to look at another Van Gundy for that however. Seeing as how Jeff does not want to come back into the land of coaching anytime soon, Stan may be on the lookout for somewhere to land.
It has been widely speculated that the Orlando head coach may be on his way out of Florida with a footprint on his behind. The franchise has already mangled the roster with a big three-way trade earlier in the season. What’s the next big move that they could use to keep the big man, Dwight Howard? Continue reading Stan Van Gundy Should Start Lining Up Interviews
Tuesday after the Magic’s Game 5 win over the Hawks Stan Van Gundy put on yet another show in the post game conference. I actually like Stan as a coach. Absolutely HILARIOUS guy and says exactly what he’s thinking. Even though sometimes it is better kept unsaid.
When asked about a call that could’ve been called as a flagrant Stan responded “Well it couldn’t have been called a flagrant because it was called on Dwight. He has not been flagrantly fouled this year.” He also commented on the refs doing their job and how its the media who are the bad guys. This guy does not bite his tongue.Watch the Video of his postgame conference interview and a reel of SVG and his crazy antics and things he’s said. What Do the Owners Want?
—The league wants to make pay cuts, by pay cut meaning cut the salaries of the players. Stern has mentioned he would ideally like to cut $800million in payroll league wide in negotiations.
–Owners want to eliminate guaranteed contracts. They would like to see the first two years guaranteed but after that, the money be only guaranteed if the player has played up to expectation and achieved certain performance incentives.
