Although the planking phemon has died down in the past couple weeks, Washington Wizards Center Javale McGee just hasn’t let it go. I say there should be a height limit to planking, and this 7 footer is just too tall.
While meeting Javale at the ESPY’s, I did ask him if he would plank the red carpet or possibly plank on stage if he won an award, he laughed. But I wouldn’t doubt it if it had crossed his mind. He did seem bum when I told him someone planked the red carpet earlier that day.
Softcup teamed up with Bliss Spa at the W Hollywood to throw a lovely retreat for guests, nominees, and announcers of the ESPYs for spa treatment that was out of this world. I was lucky to be one of the attendees as I enjoyed an oxygen facial and massage on Tuesday, the day before the ESPYs.
Many celebs were present including the gorgeous Gabrielle Union who I had the pleasure of meeting, along with actress Melinda Williams, actor and star of The Blindside Quinton Aaron, Terrell Owens’ PR from the TO Show Kita, ESPN sportscaster Erin Andews, model Eva Marcille, as well ass football players from the Seahawks and Packers who came to enjoy some R&R.
As the ESPYs near, the commercials and videos are streaming out. As there is a lockout and Summer League along with Team USA is nonexistent, the ESPYs will probably be the highlight to many of us sportsheads during the offseason. With lockouts in both the NBA and NFL, it’ll be interesting to see the interaction between both parties at the award show.
Justin Timberlake and Capital One have teamed up to celebrate college sports and announce the winners of the inaugural Capital One Cup. He will be presenting the Cup at the ESPY’s next week and to prepare, he wanted to know what it’s like to be a college athlete….check out the video
