Ohio State's Jim Tressel Resigns; Now What?

It was a long time coming. If you did not see that Ohio State’s football program would resort to an extremity like Jim Tressel resigning, you may have been walking around with your BS shades on. After the first major allegations surrounding the Buckeyes hit, like everyone else I believed that it was not serious enough to warrant a wide range of disciplinary actions.

A couple of college football players, selling things that they rightfully owned may be against the rules in the eyes of the NCAA, but to me does not seem like such a huge deal. However, when more and more reports began to question other aspects of Ohio State’s sports business dealings such as with car dealerships, things became real. As a result, Tressel will be looking from the outside in on a football program he helped maintain a level of greatness in the Big Ten and throughout NCAA Football in general. Cam Newton Statue For Auburn University

There are a few things you can say about Cam Newton. You can say that he is one of the most athletically gifted football players that came out of the 2011 NFL Draft. You can say that he is also one of the biggest risks taken in the draft. One thing you cannot say is that the man is not entertaining. Whether he was running one of his 21 touchdowns, passing for a few of his 2,854 yards or just smiling for the cameras, fans wanted to see what the former Auburn quarterback would do next. Video:Texas A&M Coach Gary Blaire Hits the Dougie at the NCAA Final Four

The dancing in basketball is funnier to me than the touchdown victory dances in football. After beating the Irish of Notre Dame and bringing a silence to all the talk of their star player Skylar Diggins, the coach was encouraged into doing the dougie.

Now this may be the worst rendition EVER but hey, who said there was an age limit to modern dance moves, if that’s what we want to call it. Texas A&M took the win over Notre Dame in a 76-70 victory in a game that was everything the men’s wanted theirs to be on Monday night. The men’s game was awful and dreadful to watch, making it the lowest scoring game in NCAA history since 1949. The women’s was the complete opposite and the 6 point victory may even mask to those who didn’t tune in just how close and suspenseful this game was at moments. The Star of the night for Texas A&M was Center Danielle Adams who finished the game with an outstanding 30 pts and 9 boards, elevating Texas to the NCAA Championship title.

Analysis: Uconn Huskies win National Championship

by:Aaron Krause

Every dog has it’s day. Unfortunately for Butler, this day belonged to a group of Huskies, not Bulldogs.

For the second straight year, coach Brad Stevens and his group of kids watched the other team celebrate. Again, they watched the other team cut down the nets, only this time, people worldwide already knew the story of the little school with 4,500 students, as well as the famous “Hoosiers” movie filmed at the now house-hold known name of Hinkle Fieldhouse. David failed to slay Goliath one more time.

UCONN Outplays Butler to Win the NCAA National Championship

A yawn worthy game in the first half of the Championship game with a halftime score of 22-19 Butler leading, Kemba Walker and the Huskies showed up in the second half leaving the Bulldogs in the lockeroom.

My prediction was that Uconn would win.WHERE MY MONEY AT? Just playing. Both teams shot horribly from the field and its although offense was horrible, it wasn’t due to great defense. Butler’s FG percentage was 18.8 (the lowest in NCAA championship history). This is the Huskies 3rd Championship title. Uconn’s 53pt win over the Bulldogs is the lowest in NCAA history from a title winning team.

Skylar Diggins and the Irish Upset Maya Moore and the Huskies

Seems like there’s been many guys who have a new crush. Twitter was going nuts as a Cinderella Story came about when the Notre Dame Irish gave Uconn an upset, ending Maya Moore’s run to a 3rd National Championship. Diggins scored 28 points in the 72-63 upset on Sunday Night. The Irish now head to face Texas A&M in the title game. Skylar has become an overnight poster to men who enjoy a pretty women in uniform. She’s even getting special love from a few celebs via Twitter.

NCAA Final Game: UConn V Butler. Who Do You Have Winning?

So the Championship game comes down to the Uconn Huskies and the Butler Bulldogs. Cinderella story for the Bulldogs has now turned into a discussion of Good Vs. Evil as we head to the Championship game. Butler being the more admirable, ethical underdogs and Uconn being the well favored evil of the two. I think this argument is brought up more so because of the coach. While on Twitter last night someone mentioned the 2 “cheaterist” coaches go head to head in reference to the Uconn-Kentucky game. Coach Calhoun received suspension from 3 games next season for recruiting violation. Read more about it here and what other penalties the NCAA hit the Uconn athletic department with including scholarship deductions and not limited to future recruiting restrictions. Don’t look at UConn coach Jim Calhoun, who was ruled by the NCAA to have overseen a program that was not in compliance with the rulebook, and equate Calhoun to UConn. He’s the UConn coach, yes. That’s his program. Those are his players.  So who do I have winning? The cinderalla team Butler? Or the less exciting story of the Huskies beating the #8 seed? Video: Alex Oriakhi Harlem Shakes before Uconn Vs Kentucky Game

I thought the cool dance nowadays was the Dougie. *blank stare. Don’t let me find out the harlem shake is back. I remember competing with the guys back in middle school on that one. But now that it has been brought back almost 10 years later, it’s not as cool as I remember. Either way it goes, Uconn’s Alex Oriakhi became quite the topic on twitter yesterday after he hit the harlem shake in attempt to hype his team up for the game. Thanks to BSO, I got the video to share with you guys.

PS. I think that after a certain height, you should only be allowed to do certain dance moves. It’s funny to me to see such big guys dancing.

Maya Moore leads Huskies Victory over No.2 Duke

Last night the Huskies took on no.2 seed Duke in the Women’s NCAA fight to Final Four. Uconn simply dominated the game and took an effortless win over the Blue Devils with a 75-40 victory, bringing the Huskies to the Final Four for the fourth straight time and 12th in last 17 seasons. The Huskies No.1 (36-1) seed have played phenomenal ball this season having their only loss against the Cardinals on December 30 that snapped a 90 game winning streak. Connecticut is seeking their eighth national championship. The Huskies are playing with the best women’s college player in the country, Maya Moore and arguably the best coach Geno Auriemma. Tuesday night Moore brought in 28 points, including her 3,000th. Last night after watching her dominate the boards I tweeted this and got ALOT of Retweets and responses from followers. Even Jacob Lacey of the Indianapolis Colts seemed to agree on her talent.

This girl knows how to play some ball! I admire her and glad she is an inspiration for many young female ball players.  Since my male followers seemed to have such respect and a liking for Ms. Maya I decided to give you all some Maya Moore.

JayZ Being Investigated by NBA After Congratulating Kentucky for Making the Final Four

The mens basketball team of Kentucy had a surprise awaiting them in front of the locker room after their unsuspecting win over UNC to advance to the NCAA Final Four. Aside being a well known as a rapper and Label owner, Jay Z also is a partial owner of the NBA Franchise in New Jersey. The issue at hand is that NBA personel are not allowed to have contact with college players before they enter the draft. Jay Z could possibly be hit with a fine. The NBA cites a previous case where back in 2007 Celtics GM Danny Ainge sat with Kevin Durant’s mom during the Big 12 Tournament. Ainge was later fined $30,000. There’s also a video of the excitement the boys had when greeted by Mr. Jay Z.
